GENTLEMEN, we have sold the Yacht Contessa as a direct result of the advertisement we placed on your service, Yachts-On-Line. Not only did it sell in a very short time, about 4 weeks, but since the very first day, I have received inquirys from all over the United States. The first week it was listed, a couple from Las Vegas (must be the Yachting capital of the World?) called, and wanted to purchase the boat for use as a live aboard & ship it to San Jose California, while they looked around to but a house. After much e-mail and telephone conversation, it was decided that to ship a boat this big across the entire U.S.A. it would cost 12,500, or half the price of the boat. They were disappointed, but had to give up.
Within, two weeks a Doctor from GulfPort, Texas, e-mailed & called, and he was also an airplane pilot. He wanted to fly up and survey the boat, and also ship it by truck to Texas, and keep it behind his house on the water. Cost again, 7,500. He still pursued the idea and finally came up with a friend in construction, with a large flat trailer for hauling around catapillers. That would have been cheaper. He was scheduled to fly up to New York this week.
HOWEVER, while I was in California last week and couldn't answer my e-mail, a very nice family from Boston, Mass. inquired, and called by telephone to my uncle, who made an appt. to see the Yacht in N.Y. at his club. They immediately made a deal to purchase the boat, and he tuned it up, launched it, and they took possession yesterday. They made it home to boston harbor in only 11 hours, and just called to let us know everything was alright, even though there was a storm on the way. I have e-mailed everyone who was interested, but need you to "MARK THE BOAT SOLD" on line because even today I keep getting inquirys.
Please feel free to publish my note if you like and we can't recommend you enough. I only wish I had a couple of more boats to sell thru Yachts On-Line.
THANK YOU , THANK YOU, THANK YOU, AND HAVE A GOOD YEAR. BEST OF LUCK, TOM V.
